Equestrian Holidays
Bring your horse on holiday with you!
Directly below the private decked area of the Shepherd's Hut sits a designated paddock for your horse or pony to holiday in. Look out over your equine companions as you enjoy your holiday, and wake up in the knowledge that your horses are only a few metres away from you.
Equestrian accommodation is available as an extra to your main holiday booking, and needs to be arranged separately, as great care is taken to give you the equine holiday experience you are looking for. To discuss your requirements and for pricing information, please contact us.

Cross Country Facilities
If you love the thrill of cross country, then this could be the perfect holiday destination for you! Eland Lodge’s XC course is set over 65 acres and features full courses from 50cm up to 1.10m. It is in regular use throughout the season for British Eventing competitions, unaffiliated competitions, Pony Club competitions and hunter trials.
The facility is available hire on a regular basis – contact us to discuss the best time to stay if riding the course is your aim! If you’d like some training, then a list of local instructors can be provided.
Arena Facilities
Eland Lodge Equestrian Centre also boasts a large arena, which comes complete with a full set of BS Showjumps, an Arena Eventing Course or Dressage boards, depending on the time of year.

Local Hacking
If you prefer to get out and about enjoying the countryside on your horse, then Pear Tree Cottage is a fantastic central base for some trips out. The Shepherd's Hut is located just half an hour from the excellent trails at Cannock Chase in one direction and in the other, half an hour from the famous Tissington trail in the Peak District.
Competitions
Eland Lodge is renowned for the quality and variety of the competitions and clinics it hosts all year round. Whether Eventing, Showjumping, Dressage, Hunter Trials or Arena Eventing is your thing, if you want to compete during your stay, this can be arranged.
